🗣️ LADIES, LISTEN UP 🗣️ Do you suffer f 🗣️ LADIES, LISTEN UP 🗣️ Do you suffer from painful periods? 🩸 You’re not alone. About 80% of women experience painful periods, and up to 15% report the pain being so debilitating it affects their lives. But what if I told you that you DONT have to have a painful period?! 🤯 Making some mindful decisions before, during, and after your period can reduce your pain. These has worked for me - so I’m not lyin! 🤩 BEFORE: - focus on eating anti-inflammatory foods and avoiding processed foods - stay hydrated with electrolyte-rich bevs - drink Raspberry Leaf Tea daily - my fave is from @tradmedicinals ☕️ - Sweat 💦 keep lymphatic drainage high and your liver supported - Shilajit supplement - something new for me but something that has made a HUGE difference in my cramps and period in general! It removes heavy metals, free radicals, and more inflammatory causes from our bodies. My fave is @blacklotusshilajit DURING: - use pads or tampons made with ORGANIC, UNBLEACHED, NON-CHLORINATED, and UNSCENTED cotton - continue to keep hydrating 🥤 - make hot teas your besties. I continue to drink my raspberry leaf tea during my period - gentle movement - think yoga or Pilates. Nothing too strenuous because your body is already working overtime - self-care - hot baths, gua sha, dry brush, meditation. Our bodies are slowly creeping out of the lull of winter. The plants are coming back to life. The animals are coming out of hibernation. You should do the same! 🤩 Here are some activities to get ready for Spring and your reawakening! 🌱 🌷 Spring cleaning - sort through your belongings. If the time doesn’t give you joy (s/o @mariekondo), you no longer have a purpose for it, or it doesn’t fit - say goodbye! Donate, sell, or trash what doesn’t serve you any longer. Spring cleaning also goes for surfaces inside and outside of your home, car, office, etc. 🌷 Write Intentions - writing is proven to be more effective than typing. Physically write down some intentions or goals for the next season 🌷 Enjoy Nature - Nature is waking up! Get outside and listen to the birds singing, watch the bunnies run around, and see the beautiful flowers bloom. 🌷 Plant seeds - If you can, plant some seeds to harvest later in the season. If you’re ready to avoid common food additives, If you’re ready to avoid common food additives, follow these easy steps 📝 🛒 Shop on the outside aisles of the grocery store - The freshest, non-processed foods are located on the outer aisles 🛒 Read the labels - If you aren’t sure of an ingredient, it’s probably something you shouldn’t be consuming - Ingredient labels are written with the largest-used ingredient first. — For example, if the ingredient list reads: High fructose corn syrup, Aqua (water), Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Vanillin, Natural flavors, Citric acid — High fructose corn syrup is the most common ingredient in that item, followed by water, dextrose, maltodextrin, etc. 🛒 Eat fresh foods - Make foods at home where you know what ingredients are going into your fuel - If you have to grab food on the go, opt for salad kits, fresh fruit, grass-fed jerky (my fave is Chomps) 🛒 Take me shopping with you! Here’s the rest of that list! ✨ * Nitrites and Nitrates - carcinogenic preservatives linked to stomach cancer, found in many preserved meats and jerky * Potassium bromate - carcinogenic preservative found in many breads * Butylated Hydroxyanisole (BHA) - carcinogenic and endocrine-disrupting preservative found in many potato chips, preserved meats, and cosmetics * Butylated Hydroxytoluene (BHT) - carcinogenic preservative found in many foods, including milk * Propyl gallate - preservative with suspected carcinogenic and endocrine-disrupting properties * Diacetyl - artificial flavor used in microwave popcorn, maple syrup, and yogurt.
